  • Folk Aesthetics, Film Sets, and Cinema Celebrations

Dear Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Autumn in Kraków keeps its vibrant pace, and November days bring a wonderful variety of events – from retro design and family workshops to the magic of cinema, including celebrating Poland’s National Independence Day on the big screen. We have prepared a curated selection of the most intriguing events Kraków has to offer for the upcoming days!

The World of Design and Nostalgia: “Citizen Cepelia” at the National Museum

We all know that sense of nostalgia for objects with a soul – and at Hostel Deco, respect for the aesthetics of past decades is woven into our DNA. That is why we highly recommend the exhibition at the Main Building of the National Museum in Kraków (1 3 Maja Ave.), dedicated to the evolution of Polish design and applied arts from the second half of the 20th century. The display reveals how this iconic institution shaped ideas of tradition, fashion, textiles, and ceramics.

  • When to visit: The exhibition is open from October 9, 2026, until February 21, 2027.

Film Studies & Inspirations for the Youngest & Hostel DVD Evenings

For guests traveling with children, the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology has prepared special workshops as part of their pop-up series. On November 8 (11:30 AM–1:30 PM), young discoverers will learn the secrets of feature and animated filmmaking, inspired by the work of Andrzej Wajda, and craft their own optical animation toys!

And speaking of film… after an intense day of sightseeing, we invite you to enjoy a cozy evening right here at our hostel! A rich collection of movies on DVD awaits you in our atmospheric lounge – simply pick a title and settle comfortably into our sofas.

November 11: Polish Cinema Day at Kino Pod Baranami

A unique way to celebrate Poland’s National Independence Day (November 11) is a visit to the iconic Kino Pod Baranami at the Main Market Square. On Polish Cinema Day, the venue will host special preview screenings – featuring a new adaptation of Bolesław Prus’s classic novel “The Doll”, the moving true love story “Through the Wall”, and “Our Revolution”, depicting the lives of Jacek and Grażyna Kuroń.

  • When: November 11, 2026 (booking tickets in advance is recommended!).

We wish you inspiring walks and wonderful memories!
